Practicing for x-ray Mx occlusal
What you’ll need:
- A playing card
- An empty paper towel roll
- A blanket
Take a playing card that you don’t need, like a joker, and cut it into a small rectangle (see image below). Have your child sit in a chair, covering their shoulders with a blanket to mimic our lead apron.
Get your child to bite onto the card gently, holding it with their teeth so that most of the card is in their mouth (see image below). Now hold the paper towel roll close to their nose, to imitate our camera head. The goal is for them to hold still, keeping the card gently in place while you slowly count to 3. At first, they may only play with it, or barely put it in their mouths, but with practice they can do it!
